The originally Gothic fort was built by the Košík family at the end of the 13th century.

During the following century the fort was in the possession of the Valdštejn family; from 1397 to the Hussite wars it was owned by the Košík family again.

City Museum and Gallery in Lomnice nad Popelkou

The Museum presents folk art and ethnographic expositions. We will find permanent expositions there covering the history of the Lomnice Region, Ethnography, Mineralogy, Zoology and the Monument of the Šlechta family; exhibitions and lectures are also given there.
