Radostná pod Kozákovem is located around 8km east of Turnov. As indicated by the name, the village is located below Kozákov, a hill known for the occurrence of semi-precious stones in a former quarry. The village lies on its southern hillside.

Radostná pod Kozákovem was established in 1960. The brook of Stebenka begins in the village. It forms a spring well named Radostná, which gave the name to the village. The the spring well supplies good quality drinking water to the entire village using natural gravity.

South of the village, close to the road to Jičín, there is the ruin of Trosky Castle, a dominant feature of the local region. East of the village there is the area of Hruboskalsko - a rock town and Valdštejn Castle. There is a dense network of cycling tracks and hiking trails in Český ráj, leading to all corners of the protected landscape area.
