The village was first mentioned in 1318. There is Rotštejn Castle and sandstone Klokočské and Betlémské skály near Klokočí. It is possible to go on various excursions trips and to visit various natural, historical and technical monuments in Český ráj. In the east there is Kozákov, a hill which is a popular destination for amateur seekers of semi-precious stones, such as agates or amethysts.
