Around 4km north of Žernov, on the so-called Lužický zlom, there is Kozákov, a hill and well-known tourist place where semi-precious stones are found, in particular agates and amethysts. As Žernov lies close to Český ráj, it is an ideal place for excursions to peaceful nature in the region, or for an active holiday devoted to sports. The region is criss-crossed by numerous cycle tracks attracting lovers of cycling. Lovers of climbing will appreciate the rock towns in Český ráj.
