The small sandstone rock formation is situated on the right bank of the Jizera, between Malá Skála and Vranovské Údolí. There are remnants of of a medieval castle, and an archaeological site from the late Stone Age – Lusatian settlement. The elevated platform is divided by wild gorges in several parts. The most attractive are: Vondrova, Foukané Díry, Přední and Zadní Kostel and Varta.
