The Humprecht Chateau was built in the 1666-68 period to an order by Jan Humprecht Černín of Chudenice; the design comes from a famous architect named Carlo Lugaro.
The originally Renaissance chateau, built by Václav Budovec of Budova, was passed in the hands of Albrecht of Valdtejn after the Battle of White Mountain.
The castle and chateau of Staré Hrady near Jičína is a unique Renaissance group of buildings with figural sgraffito. The first mention dates back to 1340. It was originally a Gothic castle, with the characteristic elements created in the shop of Petr Parléř, with an adjacent Renaissance chateau and bailey.
The Renaissance chateau was built on sandstone at the point where a medieval castle built in the 14th century used to be. In 1804, a park in the English style was added; in 1859 the chateau was regothicized.
The chateau in Jičín was built after 1608; 12 years later, it caught fire after an explosion, and was seriously damaged. Under Albrecht of Valdtejn, in 1633, it was newly built in the Baroque style.
