Holidays with children

To satisfy children it is enough that the options be varied, alternating and interesting. And that is the Bohemian Paradise. We need not plan any long-distance hikes very short walks are enough. Children will certainly find the most varied sprites and animals, shaped by water, frost and wind in rocks, and they will be thrilled by rock passages and stairways and in caves where adults cannot go they will immediately be at home. It doesn't matter if we are unable to set out on planned views with children. Often they are much more content making a pile of sand beneath an unknown rock or by throwing pinecones. The shallow ponds with sandy bottoms have been formed just for them. They will also enjoy the castles and chateaux, but often will be much more inspired by romantic ruins. If we make up an interesting story in time for some places, they will feel like they are in a fairy tale. In the end, the Bohemian Paradise is often chosen as a fairy tale in and of itself. Many films have been shot here.

The legends are the base of the wandering called "Following the legends of the Bohemian Paradise" which was prepared for you by the Bohemian Paradise Association. The whole project is held under the auspices and patronage of Mr Josef Dvořák, a famous actor from Prague. Let´s go on a trip to the Hrubá Skála Rock Town with a Black Knight or to the Malá Skála region, full of highwaymen. Let´s have a look at the Upper Jizera region with the fairy called Jizerýna, at the flower garden of the good spirit of the Prachovské Rocks, the dwarf Little Den, at the Kozákov hill with dwarves - stonemakers or at the Mladá Boleslav region with its courageous postman. Let´s listen to the tunes of the wind, chasing itself between the basalt towers of the famous dominating feature of the Bohemian Paradise, the Trosky castle, or to the water of the snake spring at the Sobotka town.

Let´s have a look at the sandstone rocks near Mnichovo Hradiště that, according to legends, obtained their name from a good giant, and at the nearby ruin of the Valečov castle In Jičín you can visit Rumcajs´ shoe-making workshop where you can not only meet Rumcajs, Manka and Cipísek, but also set off on the Rumcajs Trail. It follows the blue trail past the Kníže pond, to Kbelnice, Brada ruin, view-point Přivýšina, past the Prachovské Rocks and through the small rock castle Pařez to Loveč and Mladějov. The traditional September festival "Jičín - the town of fairy tales" offers a huge number of performances, concerts and evens but you can also test you painting skills there. The Museum of Game in Jičín can be walked through as if you were an ordinary visitor, but if you are playful and want to see things from a different angle, you can choose the non-traditional method and with a specially trained guide, with a pencil in your hand and the flair of a detective you will walk from a hall to a hall and discover the secret lay-out of the Valdštejn´s palace, solve the tasks from the Wardrobe of Tasks and Answers or build the Jičín square in the playing room and make it look completely different than it was for example in the Middle Ages.

The sight seeing tours of the rock towns lead along safe roads and in exposé places they are secured with railings. However, it is, velikost: 82.58 KB, image opens in new window imperative to keep an eye on your children - the rock viewpoints are beautiful but very high. If you are lucky, you can meet them at Valdštejn, Trosky, Hrubá Skála, Kost, Hrubý Rohozec and maybe also somewhere else.A great adventure waits for you when you go looking for the treasure of precious stones, hidden in the slopes of the mysterious Kozákov, you can cut the possible finding in the local cutting workshop.
