Koberovy
The village of Koberovy lies in a valley between the Hamštejn and Fialník hills. It consists of the hamlets of Besedice, Hamštejn, Chloudov, Michovka, Prosíčka, Vrát, and Zbirohy.
The Golden Trail of Bohemian Paradise runs from Hamštejn through Koberovy and Besedice, connecting the most beautiful sites of Bohemian Paradise since the 1930s. A new observation tower of the same name was built on the Hamštejn Ridge in 2023.
Near Besedice, visitors can explore a romantic labyrinth of sandstone rocks (the Besedice Rocks, featuring the Kalich and Chléviště rock mazes), through which runs the marked Dr. Edvard Beneš hiking trail with an educational path.
Following the marked bike trail, you’ll ride past the Besedice Chapel through Michovka to Zbirohy, where you can stop at the castle ruins of the same name from the time of King Wenceslas IV. The bike trail ends in the Jizera Valley, where it connects to the Jizera Greenway.
The Rocks of Besedice (Kalich)
The Rocks of Besedice line the southern and western edges of Sokol Hill, which rises 300 meters above the Jizera River. They are divided into two parts—the Kalich and Chléviště rock labyrinths. Sokol Hill (562 m a.s.l.) offers the most beautiful view of the Suché Rocks.
The rocky edges of Sokol’s western slope form the so-called Chléviště, where the trail winds through narrow gorges and hidden nooks shrouded in many legends. Numerous vantage points offer breathtaking views across the Jizera Valley. The neighboring Kalich is another mysterious rock labyrinth. The area, consisting of five ravines with a number of interesting spots, is named after a nook where a rock altar, a carved chalice, and the year 1638 are located.
Dr. Edvard Beneš Trail
This 4.5-kilometer hiking trail was built in 1935 by enthusiasts from the local beautification society. Today, the entire loop is marked in yellow and leads from Besedice through the Kalich rock labyrinth, Chléviště, and Sokol Hill back to Besedice.
The Golden Trail of Bohemian Paradise
A red-marked hiking trail runs through the Besedické skály and Maloskalsko regions, connecting the most visited sites of Bohemian Paradise. In the village of Koberovy, it takes you to the attractive sites of the Chléviště and Kalich rock labyrinths and, passing by the new lookout tower on Hamštejn, continues to Kozákov, the sentinel mountain of the Bohemian Paradise. In the Jizera Valley, it meets the Greenway Jizera cycling route, which begins in the Jizera Mountains and ends at the outskirts of Prague.
Greenway Jizera
Cycle Route No. 17, known as the Greenway Jizera, runs along the Jizera River. Starting at the Polish border in the Jizera Mountains, it passes through the foothills of the western Krkonoše Mountains, the Bohemian Paradise, and the Elbe River Valley all the way to Prague.
In the Maloskalsko region, you can ride along the most famous section of the trail, which here often takes the form of a separate bike path and offers a combination of cycling (including popular scooters), water sports, and, of course, hiking. The newest section of the bike path between Líšný and Železný Brod was built between 2023 and 2025.
